 ine Ort Pöide liegt auf der estnischen Ostseeinsel Saaremaa. Pöide ist b
 erühmt für seine imposante Kirche mit Festungsturm aus dem 13. Jahrhunde
 rt. Die Kirche ist für eine Dorfkirche ungewöhnlich groß und massiv. Au
 ßerdem verfügt sie über eine gute Akustik und kunstvolle Skulpturen. Se
 it Anfang 2012 existiert eine Stiftung\, die sich den Erhalt der vom Einst
 urz bedrohten Kirche\, der umliegenden Gebäude sowie des Geländes zur Au
 fgabe gemacht hat. Zudem ist geplant\, die Gebäude als Lern- und Besucher
 zentren umzubauen. Durch staatliche Zuschüsse konnten bereits das Dach un
 d die Fenster der Kirche renoviert werden. Mithilfe der IBO-Freiwilligen w
 urden in den letzten Jahren der Raum zwischen der Kirche und dem Pfarrhaus
  bereinigt und der Park wieder freigelegt. Während des diesjährigen Bauc
 amps werden Steinmauern gebaut und die Büsche auf dem Gelände geschnitte
 n. \n\nArbeit: Steinarbeiten\, Räumungsarbeiten\, kleine Renovierungsarb

 icent Gothic church on the small Saaremaa Island. It is one of the largest
  and the oldest buildings in Estonia. During the Soviet era\, the building
  was in disrepair. After the war it had no roof and its interior was loote
 d. The church was out of use for 40 years. In the 1990s the congregation w
 as reestablished and the renovation began. Nowadays\, the church is a popu
 lar tourist attraction. It also houses a small but growing congregation. T
 he Estonian government has ordered a professional renovation company to re
 pair the old building. The church has a new roof and the windows are being
  repaired. The Soviet era also left a mark on the church surroundings. In 
 the 1990s the church was overgrown with vegetation. With the help of IBO v
 olunteer the space between the church\, the manor and the park could be cl
 eaned up. 2018 renovation works on the stone walls and cutting of bushes a
